After 11 months of building work, it’s almost time for Christ Church to open wide the doors, and there are lots of different opportunities over the weekend of the 5-7 October for you to come and explore the new building.
On Friday 5 October at 7pm Our opening service of celebration is with Rt Rev Graham Tomlin, a Downend lad who is now the Bishop of Kensington along with Rt Rev Lee Rayfield, Bishop of Swindon. It will be wonderful to have with us Misa and Ina from Moldova who have built a new church in their village from the tithing of monies given by members of Christ Church.
On Saturday 6 October the Church is open from 9.30-12.30 with coffee, cake, floral displays and a photographic exhibition on the theme of “Open”.
On Saturday 6 October from 2 – 4 pm the church will be full of lots of children’s activities, including a bouncy castle, as we celebrate the versatility of the newly refurbished Church.
On Saturday 6 October from 7pm Local talent will be showcased as we host a free Concert.
On Sunday 7 October at 10.30am our first Sunday service back in the Church will be our Harvest All Age Praise.
On Sunday 7 October at 12pm there is a Bring and Share Harvest banquet.
On Sunday 7 October at 6.30pm we will sing our hearts out in Harvest Hymns of Praise.
We can’t wait to be back in our Church building and hope everyone will come and have a good look around during our “open” weekend. There will be plenty of cakes and coffees, opportunities to explore the whole building and a time to be thankful to God for all the renovations which have been done. Everyone is welcome.
