At Christ Church Downend for most of the last 12 years we have been able to employ someone in the role of head of children’s and families ministry. Over the last 15 months since our previous children’s ministry head stepped down, as the shape of the ministry has changed during the covid pandemic it has been overseen by Liz Leeson in a voluntary capacity and by Aidan our curate. We previously advertised in the summer and again in the autumn for a part-time 20 hour per week role but were unsuccessful in our efforts to appoint someone.

Therefore after consideration, conversation with various people/groups and prayer we are now able to advertise a new Children’s ministry co-ordinator role. We are seeking someone to coordinate and support our wonderful teams of volunteers and be a part of what God is doing in and beyond our church.

We want to appeal to as many different people as possible to consider applying for this role, either just in the short-term to help us through this season or with a longer term mindset. Therefore whilst this role advertised is short-term and has limited hours, there is scope for the role to be increased beyond this academic year and in hours if appropriate.
