The band is looking forward to returning to Christ Church on July 6th at 7pm to support the fund raising for the Building4Life project.

Since it’s last visit the band has changed conductor and is now led by Daniel Hall, a very accomplished, young musician and composer, who is currently completing his studies at the Royal; Welsh College of Music and Drama.

Daniel has enjoyed much success this year, with his compositions being used by many of the countries top bands, and just recently had one of his pieces used for the Premier Youth contest at the European Brass Band Championships held in Montreux.

At these championships Daniel was also one of the three finalists, selected from around Europe, in the composers competition, winning the competition with a very interesting and contemporary new work. Under Daniels guidance the band’s repertoire has certainly changed and now includes many differing styles of music, taken from many different genres.

The band continues to play at a high level and in recent months was successful in two contests, winning at Oxford and performing strongly at the National Championship qualifying contest, finishing 4th. The band remains true to it’s founding ethos and continues to promote and encourage young musicians to perform to a high level. Currently over a third of its members are aged 21 years or under, more than any other band in the South West competing at the same level.

Tickets are available through the Parish Office.
