The church is built on the foundation of prayer.

The building will at last be complete and ready to serve as a place of worship for many years to come. But even more important than the physical foundations are those created by the centuries of praying people drawing close to God on behalf of the community.

What more fitting way to open the church than for the very first event to be a night of prayer.

We will begin with a time of worship in music, prayer and Word at 7.00 pm,  then from 8.00 pm the whole building will be a focus for prayer: prayer stations will be spread around the site helping us to be truly open to the Father, Son and Spirit. At 7.30 am on Monday 1st October we will gather together for prayer and end with a continental breakfast at 8 am.

You are welcome to sign up for a prayer slot of an hour, or to turn up as you choose, or to stay for as long as you like, enjoying the special peace and spiritual awakening that comes in the night when the world is asleep.  You can sit in silence and contemplate the ideas given at the prayer stations, in words and visual aids. You can come with a friend and pray quietly together. Others will be inspired through writing on the prayer wall or creating something at the art table. As you pray, you can sense the whisper of faithful saints of the past, and sense the call of the Lord to the future: to fulfil Jesus’ command: to go and make disciples of all nations, beginning where we are.

Many will remember our week of 24/7 prayer in January 2017 and the special times they experienced. The Lord is waiting for us, will you come?
