Tie a ribbon in memory of a loved one
In tough times we want to remember those we’ve loved and look to better times ahead.
Come and tie a ribbon onto our yew tree in the churchyard, in memory of a loved one or just as a symbol of our thoughts, our hopes and fears, our prayers.
White ribbons will be available in the churchyard from 20th March until Easter Sunday 4th April.
From April 4th you can bring a flower to the tree and add to the display as a sign of hope, that better times will come.
Watch Tony and Lou encourage you to take part! https://youtu.be/oyCRRp7bGU0
(Please note that the area under the tree is uneven. Please observe Covid restrictions.)
Thank you for this inspiring and consoling idea. People need a focus for our grief and the suffering of the pandemic and well as a sign of hope.
In solidarity with you, we at St Augustine’s have started our own tree of remembrance and hope you will take this imitation as a sign of deep friendship and respect.
Dear Isabella, That is great to hear! Well said. I hope the idea catches on so that lots of people have an opportunity to express their grief and their hope. We pray for you and your folks up the road! Do send us pics.
